The Nigeria League Management Company, has taken action against Kano Pillars Football Club and it’s player, Rabiu Ali, for the player’s outburst against the match referee during their championship play-off match against Enugu Rangers.
Things soon went sour after the referee awarded Enugu Rangers a late penalty kick, which Godwin Aguda scored to level the scores at 1-1.
Ali, who was very furious at the decision ran up to the referee and started screaming. His teammates tried to restrain him but he couldn’t be calmed. Not long after, the pitch was invaded by angry Kano Pillars fans and the referee had to be quickly escorted off the pitch by security personnel.
The ugly incident has forced the NLMC to hammer Kano Pillars with an 8 Million Naira fine, Rabiu Ali has also been handed a 12 match ban for his role in the fracas.
