Ghanaian-born Afrobeats sensation, Derrick Obuobi who is popularly known in showbiz fraternity as J.Derobie, rose to fame few months ago after being discovered by Empawa Africa (#empa100 programme) which was initiated by Mr Eazi purposely to support super talented emerging artistes in Africa.

It turned out to be startling quest as the actual amount spent on instantly raising an underground artiste to fame remains unknown.

Prior to what most people have catechized, the CEO of Empawa Africa and multiple award-winning musician, Mr Eazi has finally opened up on the exact amount his company  invested in building the successful career of J.Derobie.

According to him, maximum amount of $50,000.00 was executed in the “Poverty” hitmaker’s career uplifting him to become one of the biggest artistes in Ghana currently and furthermore, surpassing to own his own record label.

He added that J.Derobie is cooking another smash single and it’ll cross borders.

In a recent post on his official twitter handle monitored by thesleak.com, the Nigerian superstar wrote “We invested $50,000 in @jderobie on an 80/20 split in his favour! Man dropped a fire single, got himself a Popcaan Remix, a @betPawaGH endorsement deal, his own Label & is due to drop his 2nd single prod by @Killertunes_Tii all in the space of 6months”

J.Derobie gained the attention of Ghanaians and the entire showbiz world after releasing a heartfelt song “Poverty” which the industry had always sought for, and it indeed received overwhelmed streams and airplays one could never imagined of an entree single.

He has already revealed in an interview on Class FM that he aims to reach Mr Eazi’s musical status in the next 5-6 years.
